I purchased this book specifically for one song I couldn't find anywhere else. This collection is a nice mix of instrumental pieces (Djano Reinhart, Dave Brubeck, etc.) and vocal music from the American Standards. The arrangements are somewhat simple, but are therefore easy for most of us to play. I did find that many of the pieces are lesser known and probably lesser know for good reason! All in all, I'm glad I purchased it.
I have all four piano books in this series. This is the best; the arrangements are fine for intermediate pianists--just difficult enough to stretch my skills.
This is absolutely one of the best jazz arrangement songbooks I've ever had - and I have a LOT of them. There are many songs I've never heard before, and that's rare for me, since I do collect this kind of music. It's all terrific. I've been laid up with a broken patella, and I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed entertaining myself on the piano with this music. (I even learned how to use the pedal with my left foot.) Thanks to whoever put it together and to Amazon for making it available.
