For a person devoted and follows Mary, or is not too familiar with the mother of God, this book is excellent. It explains every angle from the Church's point of view. Why she is named mother of God. Why she is mother of us all. How and why she is so involved in our lives, whether we understand or not. This book will help you understand. It is also a book overflowing with love. Love from God the Father, to the Son, to the Spirit, to Mary. The only drawback is some of the terms. Some are explained. Some are not. A glossary, short and simple could be beneficial to the beginner learning about Mary.
My children attend a traditional Catholic school with Latin Mass and a motto of To Jesus Through Mary. I'm thankful for this book opening my eyes and heart to understanding their mission at the school and church. As a cradle Catholic from a liberal church I was lacking in this knowledge.
I love the format of this book. I am a cradle catholic & have a strong devotion to Mary. Please if you are not catholic don't let that hinder you from reading this book! What I love about it is the way it is written for non-catholics & catholics alike to really understand Mary as our heavenly mother, not just the woman that gave birth to Jesus. This book explains (with scripture) why every person to embrace Mary as our heavenly mother. At the end of the book it also discusses briefly Mary's apparitions & the message she gives with each one.
As a Protestant believer, this book really helped me understand the Catholic dogmas of Mary. It was very detailed but presented information in such a way that I understood it, not having much previous knowledge on the subject
