About the Author
Matt Brown of Norwood, Massachusetts, is now nearly nine years removed from the incidental contact that changed his life. He is currently attending graduate school at his alma mater Stonehill College, with aspirations to launch a career that revolves around sports. His love for the game of hockey has never waned, and he remains a die-hard Bruins fan and an esteemed member of the informal hockey fraternity. Matt delivers inspirational public speaking performances to schools and civic organizations around the country. He and the Brown family are on the cusp of launching the Matt Brown Foundation, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that aims to financially and emotionally assist those impacted by neck and spinal cord injuries. Todd Civin is a husband, father, of five children, and grandfather to three grandchildren with a fourth on the way. His family is his reason for being and he devotes every day of his life to their happiness. He is the founder and owner of Civin Media Relations (CMR), a self-publishing company that assists authors in sharing their stories with the world. CMR focuses primarily on the publishing of stories by and about people with physical or emotional differences. Todd has written six biographies and eight children's books to date, and proudly welcomes Line Change to his growing resume.

Loved this book! As a hockey Mom, I cried and laughed throughout it. What an awesome story of triumph when faced with adversity. I even bought a second copy to lend out! (I want nt to make sure to keep my copy!) I highly recommend this, even if you aren’t into hockey.
Wow. This book is one that makes it difficult to put down. It’s an extremely well written account of the trauma and courage of an amazing young man. Such an inspiration and a “real†insight into the emotions and trials of becoming paralyzed especially at such a young age. I haven’t read a book in almost 8 years but I can tell you I finished this in 3 days. Must read!
“Line Change†encompasses fierce determination in the face of extraordinary challenges. Matt Brown is an inspiration. Never Quit is an apt mantra.
This book should be required reading at every school in the country. Matt's story is one that every young adult will gain great strength and learning is endless. I see summer reading with books that have no meaning and students read them to check off they read them. This book generates conversation. You are engaged and feel a part of Matt's journey from the beginning. Looking forward to his next chapter....or should I say chapterS.If you haven't picked this book up, highly encourage you do. If you haven't given it to your children (athletes or not) , I highly recommend you do. You won't regret it. I am not an avid reader and I got through it within a few days. One of those "can't stop turning the pages" books. Five Stars+.
I am one of the lucky one's who has met Matt and can call him my friend! He is an amazing person and such an inspiration sharing his story and all the ups and downs he has been through. Take a minute to read his story. It will put things in perspective and also remind you that it's important to not take life for granted as it can change in a second! Hockey is family. This book is an honest look at Matt’s injury and recovery from all the people closest to him. Matt is an inspiration and he truly is remarkable is how he chose to focus on the positive after his injury. I have this book for my own son’s to read as they are hockey players and I struggle to find things they will read without a fight. Through it all Matt encourages kids to continue to play the sport and focus on the positive. I admire Matt and his family and encourage everyone to read this book. There are so many messages to take from reading this book.
As a retired trauma nurse and mother of four children that played hockey for years, Line Change is a book that should be required high school reading! I loved the intimate portrait of life among family and friends that Matt shared with the reader. I also loved the chapters from those that know Matt closely that gave another look at life with Matt.Inspirational, personable, “Never Quit†attitude!
Received my copy of the book on Dec 12th and started reading right away! Two weeks and was finished, which is fast for me when it comes to reading.. I could not put it down! Whether you have the pleasure of knowing the Brown Family or not (which i have the pleasure of) this book will tear at your heart strings! They are an incredible family, and Matt is a true inspiration!!PURCHASE THE BOOK! You will not be disappointed!!
