This information is a podcast that has been turned into a book.It is an interview John Tighe, the author, has with Derek Doepker, another author.Why a 3 star review? Well, the book is quite motivational. He says a book positions you as an expert in your industry.Know who your target audience is.Derek Doepker gives useful info regarding the importance of your book title.Also that if your book does not do well, do not give up..So for the price and the free download, worthwhile, but a very short book.For some reason, every time I try to review this book, I get an email saying my review cannot be posted for some reason.So I have emailed Amazon to find out what was not correct, so I have removed some of my review, cannot imagine what is not right as my reviews are all sincere and polite and attempt to help other readers.
This book is a valuable tool in any author's arsenal. If you want to know how to use Kindle to your best advantage, then this book is for you.But there are some parts that need updating, such as the reference to CreateSpace, which we can no longer use. Also, a couple of the links no longer work.Even so, I would recommend that authors get this book for the value it provides otherwise. I will refer to it again when I cross certain issues. It's a valuable resource.
This little book will not solve all your self-publishing problems nor will it make you rich overnight. But it does offer some valuable information on things you can do to position yourself in crowded niches. There are a lot of little ads at the back for other authors and books, but that is just one of the ideas John puts out there, and this just shows you how to do it. A short, quick read that can make a big difference for your books.
I'm sorely disappointed and very happy I got this for free. I wish the author had been clearer that this was just an interview transcript. I had figured it was more like his take-aways from said interview.I may go listen to the interview, but it's nearly an hour long if I recall the time mentioned in the book correctly. I did not actually read the transcript in question, so I am not commenting on the actual words on the digital page but on the fact I feel mislead a bit.
In the world of Kindle publishing, there seem to be two groups of people putting out information on how to do it.One group teaches people to throw together a bunch of notes, blog posts, or articles they've paid some bargain basement writer to write and try to turn a quick buck. This is a bad business model.The other group is training authors to publish high-value eBooks based on solid content, cutting-edge marketing practices, and the latest tools, tips, and tricks in the world of Kindle publishing. John and Derek are among this small handful of people who are passionate about helping others get straight to the most valuable things you can do to launch your successful Kindle publishing business.As far as this book goes, I love that the interview is available in an audio version. I listened to it a couple of times and picked up a new nugget of information each time I did. This will undoubtedly help me to realize my dream of releasing my first book soon.
