Joe is a one-off. Nobody that I know creates the art he does. Sure, there are similar artists inspired by similar chemicals, but none that I know have the artistic style or vision that comes out of Joe. Would highly recommend this to anybody interested in mystic arts, psychedelia, etc
First, let me make a disclaimer that I have not seen this book BUT that's just because I'm not working and can't afford it. But I had my first encounter with Joe's work on "Hamilton's Pharmacopeia", a singularly unique show on the Vice channel. Just a plug for Hamilton Morris- his interest in delving into the effects, history, synthesis & social effects of psychedelics is one of the best, if not the best, show on tv concerning this topic. And I dont even indulge in any psychedelic. Back to Joe...his drawings, which may to some feel primitive, are so illustrative that one feels as though one is experiencing the pyschedelic (on Hamilton's show) while watching. His mind and conscience on display for everyone to see. I would love to own this book, but, until I get a job, it will have to remain on my wishlist! If it's anything like what he showed on Hamilton though, it's not to be missed!
